Lunch:  Cheeseburgers, fries, fresh fruit, peas, milk.

 

There is locker clean-out for 2nd floor today.

 

There is a yearbook dance after school today until 5:00 for all grade levels.  Come to the dance and get your yearbook a day early.  Even if you did not order a yearbook you may still come to the dance.  The dance cost is $3.  If you did not order a yearbook and would like to buy one - they will be on sale in the office tomorrow morning for $6.00.   First come, first serve.

 

If you are in 8th grade and plan on playing volleyball in 9th grade, please come to the office to sign-up.

 

Fifth grade students who borrowed band method books from Miss Verdecchia are reminded to return them as soon as possible so they can be used again next year.

 

8th graders are to bring your locks to lunch with you today.  Mrs. McConnell and Mrs. Mikovich will collect your locks after you eat.

There is a yearbook dance on Tuesday after school until 5:00 for all grade levels.  Come to the dance and get your yearbook a day early.  The dance cost is $3.  Chaperones are needed.  Let Mrs. Billings know if your parents can chaperone.

 

School physicals will be June 7th.  Please make sure you sign up in the office if you plan on playing any sport next school year.

 

A reminder that the Lake Erie Pride, an anti-drug and alcohol country wide group, will have their new, ninth grade member/parent meeting at St. George Church Multi-purpose room on Sunday, June 6th, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

 

Students:  You need to start cleaning out your lockers. You should take everything home that is not needed for school.

All Library books must be returned to the SRC by Friday, May 28t, or you will be given a lunch detention.  The lunch detentions will begin on Tuesday, June 1st and continue until the book is returned or paid for.

 

There is a sign-up sheet in the office for any 7th and 8th graders who are interested in golfing next school year.

 

There is REWARD DAY for 77h and 8th graders during your 7th and 8th periods in the café.

 

Band lessons are cancelled for today.

 

Coach Seneta will be visiting lunches today to speak with girls in grades 5 thru 8th to play summer basketball.  Coach Mayes will also be visiting 7th and 8th grade lunches to speak with boys’ to play summer basketball.

 

Attention 5th Graders:  Please remember to bring in your completed permission slip and your $1.00 for your field trip.  If you want a lunch from RAMS café, please send in the blue slip.

 

Last call for those interested in Lego League for next school year… please turn in your interest form to Mrs. Wolford in room 304 or Mrs. Mason in room 220 by tomorrow.

Congratulations to the 5th and 6th grade soccer team.  They defeated General McLane in a double overtime, penalty kick shoot-out yesterday.  Goal scored by Dorian Corrs, assist by Gabe Brown.  Penalty kicks scored by Dorian Connors, Braeden Italiani, and Wesley Wohlford.  Dontae Williams, as goalie, stopped three penalty kicks for the win.  Thank you boys for playing from the first whistle, to the last.  Very proud of you all….Coach Connors.

If you are doing the ‘Big Race’ you have 1 more days to train and turn in your permission slip to Mr. Clawson.

 

If you will not be returning to the Girard School District next year, please pick up an “Are You Moving?” form from Mrs. Wride in the office.

 

If you anticipate in playing a sport next school year, please stop by the office to sign up for a physical.  Physicals will be on June 7th.  You must have a physical form completed and with you on June 7th.

Attention 7th and 8th grade Educational Talent Search Students:  The field trips lists are posted on the main office windows.  Only students whose names appear on the lists are permitted to attend the field trips.

 

Attention to all the class champions, please report to the office on Friday morning to have your picture taken for the Girard Newsletter.  You should leave homeroom directly after announcements.  This includes those who are currently in Science now that won for the 1st half of the competition.

 

Students interested in signing up to be on the ballot for student council or a class officer next year should see Mrs. Billings.

 

Mrs. Sarnowski will be raffling off the pillows that hang in her classroom.  Any 7th or 8th grader interested in winning one should sign the list outside Rm. 217.  Two names will be drawn each day beginning on Wednesday, May 12.

Show shirt orders are due to Mr. Hlebik by today–stop by room 103 if you do not have an order form.  If you do not have the money today and you want a shirt, stop by and at least drop off the order form.

 

Spencer Boesch is asked to return the show necklace to Mr. Hlebik as soon as possible

 

If you entered the ugly duck contest, please get your ducks from Mr. Hlebik in Room 103.

 

Anyone playing 7th, 8th and 9th grade football next school year needs to sign up with Mr. McNally this week.

 

Tomorrow is our Parent Lucheons’.  Please let your parent know what time your lunch is so they can come in on Friday and have lunch with you.

 

This is a reminder to 7th and 8th grade Education Talent Search students:  Return your field day parent permission forms to Mrs. DeMarco by 8:00 a.m. this Friday.  Late forms will not be accepted.

 

Attention all 5th students:  Miss Verdeechia would like to display your artwork for the 2010 5th grade concert.  Please give your favorite art piece that you made this year in Mrs. Conley’s art class to Mrs. Conley by May 7th.   Please leave your name label on it.
