Day 11-Tutorial Block #4
1. All seniors need to check on their senior yearbook picture with Mr. Tomlinson this week. This can be done during tutorial or during the lunch periods. Failure to do this may result in your student ID photo being used as your senior yearbook photo
2. Journalism and Festival students, you will not be meeting for the next 2 weeks but will start again the week of March 22…Journalism on Tuesday and Festival on Wednesday.
3. There will be a lead & seed meeting today during tutorial.
4. Any student or staff who would like to purchase a MDA shamrock should stop by Mr. Mikovich’s room this week. Green shamrocks are $1 and the gold shamrocks are $5.00.

Day 118-Tutorial Block #3
1. Track candidates—practice official begins today at 3:30pm. Report to the fieldhouse.
2. Students with all A’s on their report card for the second quarter should report in front of the office today at 10:45 for a picture.

Day 117-Tutorial Block #2
1. Journalism students are to meet in the library during tutorial today

4. Student Council will be selling MDA Shamrocks for $1.00 during lunches all next week. By buying a shamrock, you will be giving a kid, a once in a lifetime exciting experience to attend a camp with other money going towards research. All shamrocks will be placed on the wall by the main office.
5. TREC is looking for volunteers ages 14 and older to assist with morning and evening classes. TREC is dedicated to helping individuals with special needs through safe equine assisted activities. Details in guidance.
6. Please wish the following students good luck today as they represent Girard at the District Ten Swim meet: Vicki, Adam and David Olesnanik, Tyler and Meagan Weaver, Tori Ohmer, Sarah Evans, Bekah Edder, and JT Bradley.

Day 116-Tutorial Block #1
1. Journalism students are to meet in the library during tutorial tomorrow.
2. Just a reminder to ECTS students that the Erie County Technical School is not in session tomorrow.
3. Track candidates—practice official begins Monday the 8th at 3:30pm. Report to the fieldhouse.

Day 115-Tutorial Block #4
1. Homeroom will be extended by 5 minutes today so that students can vote for the King & Queen contestants for Prom
2. Tonight at 6pm, there will be a Lift a Thon held in the High School gym. Participants will be going for their max in the Bench Press. All students and families are encouraged to come out and support those who are lifting. The Funds raised from the lift-a-thon will be used to improve the fitness center. There is no admission fee.
Lift-a-thon participants: Remember to continue to get pledges up to the time of the event. Students who raise $50 or more will get a free t-shirt and a gift card will be given to the student who raises the most funds overall.

6. Just a reminder – the early bird deadline for Pa. Free Enterprise Week is this Friday March 5th–turn your applications into the guidance office!

Day 114-Tutorial Block #3

2. Volunteer coaches are needed for the Youth Indoor Soccer League. The program is for Pre-K through 4th grade on Wednesday nights. If you can help coach please see Mrs. Lueck this week.
3. The high school wrestling boosters will be at Girard Pizza Hut tonight from 5-8 pm, with 15% proceeds + all tips benefitting the Wrestling Club.

Day 113-Tutorial Block #2
1. There will be a Junior/Senior meeting tomorrow in the lower auditorium during tutorial.
2. For all girls interested in playing Softball for the High School team this season, there will be a mandatory parent, player and coaches meeting MONDAY March 1st at 7:00pm in the RAMs gym. The meeting will go over practice times, team expectations and you will receive the 2010 schedule. There will be a Varsity and JV team again this season. The coaching staff looks forward to seeing all of you there.
3. There is a new dress code policy for shorts that was developed between Student Council & myself. From today on, only at GHS:
All shorts must be fingertip length for males & females. This includes for males: sport shorts, cargo shorts, cut-off jeans or common dress shorts. For females: skirts, dresses, and common dress shorts.
Students are not permitted to wear:
Short skirts, daisy dukes and kilts.
Anything that promotes drugs, alcohol, sex or violence
Holes that expose bare skin or underwear
4. The Girls JV basketball team needs to meet outside the office during tutorial today.
5. Congratulations to Yuliya Avatyuk for placing first at the District Level Skills Competition in the Field of Health Assistant
6. A reminder to students who are scheduled for ISS on Saturdays, if you do not serve on that day, you are re-scheduled for 2 Saturdays. If you still do not serve these ISS’s, you are put on 3 Days of OSS and when you get 5 ISS/OSS’s, you are removed from GHS and placed in the Alternative Education Program for the remainder of the school year.

1. Interested in helping others? RAMS is in need of student tutors afterschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4pm. See Mrs. Lueck in Room O202 if you can help!
2. Boys and Girls Basketball Playoff tickets are available to purchase in the office. Ticket prices are $4.00-Pre Sale or $5.00 at the door. The boys game has now been rescheduled to Sunday at 5:00pm at Edinboro University vs. Hickory H.S.. There are 2 games before ; 1st game @ 2:00pm—General McLane vs. Meadville; 2nd game @ 3:30pm— East vs. Grove City.
The Girls game is Saturday night at 7:30pm at General McLane High School vs. Linesville. One game before at 6:00pm—Mercyhurst Prep Girls team vs. Meadville
