The book fair will be set up in the library on Friday. It will stay open for one week. Great time to purchase some new books to read over the summer. Remember to log your reading minutes for the summer reading club!
This week we are holding a donation drive to support our troops. We are collecting items in the main hallway. Over the weekend, some of our teachers will work with the American Legion to make up care packages and send them off to the troops who work hard to keep us safe every day. If you can help, please drop off your donated item by this Friday!
We are very excited to announce that we will be offering the Girard School District Half-Day Pre-K program for the 2010-2011 school year. This free program is offered to the residents of the Girard School District. If you have a child who is elibible (4 years old on or before June 1, 2010) and you are interested in signing up for the program, please come to our Pre-K Registration Day on Thursday, February 18th, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The January PTO Meeting has been rescheduled from January 5th to Tuesday, January 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the EVES SRC/Library. We are pleased to announce Mrs. Michelee Curtze, Trainer of the HALT! Bully Prevention Program, which is A Healthy High 5 Initiative, will present at the January 12th PTO meeting. Mrs. Curtze will discuss important Anti-Bullying tips for parents. Hope you can attend. Please RSVP with the school office before Friday, January 8th. Child care will be provided for school age children.
Through a new program called Partnership with Parents, Elk Valley Elementary School will be holding raffles twice a month for the opportunity to win dinner and books.
